Loveness Chikozho

Loveness Chikozho is currently studying towards a MA in Media Studies. For her dissertation, she is critiquing the discourse contained in development participatory communication theory. Loveness in interested in examining the translation of this discourse into international development communication policy for the internet in poverty reduction strategies. Her research aims to investigate implications on the influence of the discourse on African countries’ development communication policies. She is concerned about the marginalized position of Africa in the development discourse, and would like to find out how issues of power and conflict inherent in development participatory communication discourse affect African development communication poverty reduction policies. For her BA (Hon) dissertation, she researched the portrayal of identity crisis in Zimbabwean poetry. She also holds a post-graduate diploma in Media and Communication for which she researched the portrayal of women in Zimbabwean mainstream print media. Besides the cited work, Loveness has a strong interest in race discourse in African media.
