Justice Nyalunga

Justice Nyalunga holds a BA degree in Communication Science and World History from the University of Zululand. He is currently a BA(Hons) student in Media Studies at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. His research interests are socio-economic development, the media and political affairs. His passion for media has been one of the excellent qualities since his first year at the University of Zululand when he became a voluntary journalist for the university’s student newspaper UZ PRESS in 2007. Since then he was a live correspondent for SABC’s radio station Ligwalagwala FM during the Grahamstown National Arts Festival in 2008. In April 2009 he was a top-ten finalist in the Vodacom Battle of the DJ’s, a competition organised by Gagasi 99.5 FM, a commercial radio station based in Durban. He also worked as a sports anchor and producer at a community television station in Richard’s Bay, Bay TV, for two years. In 2008 he was one of the first participants in the Future Journalism Programme (FJP) of Highway Africa, an initiative sponsored by the SABC and Rhodes University. In May 2010 he was a regional programme facilitator for a HIV-AIDS campaign, ‘Scrutinize’, at the University of Zululand. Amongst his dreams is to become one of the most successful and influential television and radio anchors of this world.
