Mncedisi Mashigoane

Mncedisi Mashigoane is a PhD student in Media Studies. He is also a Lecturer in Film and Television in the Wits School of Arts (WSOA). He holds a BA(Hons) and MA in English Literature from the University of Cape Town and a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from Rhodes University. His research focuses on soap operas and nationbuilding in South Africa. Mncedisi’s other interests include television genres (fiction and factual), documentary film, English literature and theory, South African novel in English, creative writing, scriptwriting and journalism.
